    Hello, everyone!

We're preparing for an event centered on the mass; we're looking for some creative approaches to engaging everyone in the event without being overly reliant on videos and/or powerpoint presentations.

Got any great stuff besides what's already in the resources section of the website? We'd be grateful!

    Thanks so much!

How about a walk-through of the Mass during the Mass? We did this for our Women in God's Spirit group and plan to do it next year with GoF. This way everyone participates. We had a priest do the Mass and explain everything to us.... Holly

Paula, we did a nice event that was very interactive from beginning to end. We had a guest speaker who worked closely with us to design a creative way to move from gathering - to hearing the Word - to preparing/presenting - to celebrating Eucharist - to going forth. Send me your e-mail and I'll forward it to you -

We will begin our 5th GOF which will focus on Prayer. We are also planning on teaching about the Mass during Mass so that everyone can participate. Would appreciate any information that you could share. my email is pchaplin@shchopedale.org. Thanks!

We just finished a year focused on the Mass. Build a better Sunday.
(Ice cream sundaes were the dessert at each meal.)
We broke it into 3 events.
    Welcome and Word
    The Great Meal
    The Sending

The learnings and take homes kits were designed around catechizing on those 3 parts of the Mass.

One event was a "teaching" mass - but mass was not celebrated - instead a priest walked us through the Mass - questions were intertwined with the presentation.
This portion of the evening was planned for 45 minutes. It went 1.5 hours and not one person complained. I believe that the presentor inviting the community to raise their hands so that questions could be addressed immediately was an invaluable technique. Waiting until the end tends to let the community drift off instead we had a rapt audience. Also no one forgot their question!

One event we opened with a play scripted off of a book called "The Weight of a Mass." This is a fabulous book - relates to all ages. The community loved the play!
